About Ms. Samartino
Ms. Lynn Samartino, M.A., is presently a Special Education Teacher at our successful Scammon Elementary School, who works with a variety of students and teachers throughout each and every school day. She holds certifications in General and Special Education with endorsements in Middle School, English as a Second Language, Language Arts and Social Science. This is a rare combination of certifications & endorsements that she believes is a great asset to her teaching practices. Having the experience of teaching both areas has increased her knowledge of students individual needs during the instructional day. She has been a homeroom, resource and team teacher as well as spearheading after school programs for students of all ages. She has successfully managed the IBM Mentorship Program to integrate technology into the academic areas which is in line with the transition to computer based aspects in our school today. This program was to develop students’ internet and computer skills for their high school, college and career readiness successes.. She is an educator, who is highly motivated and a motivator to others. She is an excellent communicator, a detail-oriented instructional leader that understands what it takes to accomplish goals. Ms. Samartino has obtained a variety of grants to ensure her students have the necessary materials to be successful. She believes in leading by example, communication, building teamwork and creating an environment so that students look forward to coming to her class. Ms. Samartino continues to reflect upon her practices to ensure the highest academic success of her students.
